The North Star ATLAS Missile Silo, built by the U.S. Government during the Cold War for over $110,000,000, is truly the safest “bunker” on the planet.
Entirely Underground
Constructed entirely underground below 18 acres of fenced land and secured by a solar electric powered security gate, the North Star Missile Silo is one of the most hardened structures ever built by man.
With 600 tons of steel rebar and six-foot thick epoxy concrete walls, this former missile site provides protection from a nuclear blast or comparable natural disaster.
Safety Awaits
All that is visible above ground is the secure, steel entrance door that leads to the massive structure hidden below.
Go Below
Once underground, the passageway to the two-story, former Launch Control Center is protected by two 7,000 pound, steel blast doors.
Truly One-of-a-Kind
A 40 foot tunnel leads from the “control center” through two more 7,000 pound blast doors to the missile silo. The now empty silo measures 52 feet in diameter and plunges 182 feet below ground (the equivalent of 18 stories). This space could be converted into an 18 story, underground “survival condo.”
Because the majority of comparable ATLAS missile silo locations were decommissioned and destroyed as result of the SALT Treaty, this pristine property is truly one of a kind.
Turn-Key Spaces
Each of the 1,250 sq. ft. levels of the former Control Center provide a freshly-painted raw space that can be built out or can remain in an open “loft” style.
